More needs to be done to establish more doctors and nurses to work in non-metropolitan areas

The President of the Regional Medical Specialists Association, Dr Peter Hughes, today agreed with the deputy Prime Minister, Michael McCormack who said today [19 April Courier Mail] more needs to be done to establish more doctors and nurses to work in non-metropolitan areas. Dr Hughes said that this particularly applies to medical specialists, to prevent patients travelling long distances for specialist care. He said governments should do more to attract and support specialists in the provinces.
